Located just up the hill from the Waterfront, the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park’s Visitor Center is housed in the old NBIS bank building (1853) at the corner of William and Second Streets. The center is an excellent starting point from which to explore historic New Bedford. Rangers and volunteer staff will help orient you to what there is to see and do.
Free national park volunteer and ranger-led tours last approximately one hour and step off from the national park visitor center at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. 7 days a week in July and August and by appointment year round.
