South Coast Information

In addition to listings for shops, restaurants, hotels, and services, you might need some additional information. We have compiled a succinct reference information for New Bedford and the South Coast, organized by city. Click on a city name at the bottom to access that city’s main page and reference information.

In order to ensure that you are taken care of in the case of an emergency, we have included emergency contact information for police and fire departments, as well as animal control services where available. Remember that the phone number for regular business differs from the emergency phone number, which is always 9-1-1. Both are included in each emergency listing. We have also given contact information for local clinics and hospitals.

To assist you as you in your navigation of the fun and exciting activities across the South Coast, there is transportation information for public and coach busses, taxi companies, planes (mostly through New Beford’s own airport), boats and ferries to Cuttyhunk and Martha’s Vineyard.

The South Coast has many beautiful parks and beaches available for the public to enjoy. We have listed information for a variety of different parks, including playgrounds and nature reserves. There are also a variety of beaches—from the sprawling Horseneck Beach to secluded ponds.

We have also provided local school information, in case you are visiting the area and participating in a school-hosted event.

Local libraries, which are free and excellent sources of information.
